The STRONGFIX floating shelf hardware consists of strong, internal, hidden shelf brackets designed to give wooden shelves the floating shelf appearance. STRONGFIX shelf brackets are recommended to mount shelves with a minimum thickness of 1". These functional metal shelf brackets work with almost any wooden shelf, as long as the shelf meets the minimum thickness requirement.

Creating custom Floating Shelves are easier than ever with Strongfix floating shelf brackets!

To install Strongfix hardware, a hole must be drilled in the back side of the shelf that sits against the wall, and the hole must be perfectly straight for level shelves. This job is not for someone without access to some accurate drilling tools like a drill press. The hole that needs to be drilled in the shelf should be 12 millimeter (approximately 1/2") in diameter and 100 millimeters (approximately 4") in depth into the back of the shelf. This bracket was designed with a unique anchor system that expands with the turning of the screw for additional shelf support.

Depending on your skill level, this may not be the quickest, simplest of jobs but once complete, you'll be able to admire your custom floating shelves with pride AND they will support up to 88 pounds when installed correctly and into studs or solid walls.

Note: This shelf bracket will not work in hollow walls. MUST be used in wood, concrete, brick or other solid material.

These floating shelf brackets are designed to be used with shelves up to 10" deep.

I used solid oak that was 2 inches thick by 8 inches wide. Two of the shelves are 2 ft long. One is 3 ft long and the top one is 5 ft long.
I used 4 brackets on the long shelf, 3 on the middle shelf and 2 brackets for the 2 foot shelves.
It took some practice on scrap lumber, but after finding what I thought was the correct brad point bits to use and an attachment for the drill to drill straight holes, the project came out perfect. I used a 15/32 brad point and a 29/64 brad point bit which worked great for the holes being drilled into the studs and the holes drilled into the shelves.
These brackets were inexpensive compared to a lot of other brackets on the market and worked great.
A beginner like me on this project needed to practice with a drill guide to make straight holes. Also, make sure you have accurate measurements, especially when making sure to hit the center of a 2 X 4 stud in wall! Which with the right tools and proper planning, can be done.

Works with shelves up to 10" deep

Adding a 3rd strongfix bracket will add approximately 33 additional pounds of support when installed properly into solid walls.
